City of Port Phillip Permits on a Middle Park Kerb

The placement rule across the City of Port Phillip is straightforward, and on a Middle Park street it almost always lands on the second case:

What You Can and Can’t Put in the Bin

Our bins take household rubbish, furniture, timber, old cabinetry, cardboard, plastics, soft fittings, garden clippings and clean fill, and a green-waste-only bin at the cheapest rate handles clippings and small branches on their own. A period-home renovation brings a few materials to flag first. Original lath, plaster, lime mortar, brick and tile are heavy waste rather than general, so they belong in a heavy-waste bin with its lower fill line. Lead paint on a pre-1970s terrace needs safe handling, not the general skip. Asbestos can still sit in old eaves and bathroom linings and never goes in any bin: it must go to a licensed removalist. What never goes in any skip: asbestos, flammable liquids, wet paint, gas bottles, tyres and batteries. We work to OH&S load-safety standards, so bins must not be filled above the line.
